1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of the Zakes Motorworks website and customer portal, and the vehicle services we provide from our workshop at 4242 Chlorine Ln, Clayville, Olifantsfontein, 1666. By requesting a quote, booking a service, using breakdown assistance or creating a portal account, you accept these terms.
2. Our services
Zakes Motorworks provides vehicle diagnostics, repairs, servicing, performance upgrades and roadside breakdown assistance. Work is carried out by qualified technicians using appropriate parts and procedures. Availability of breakdown assistance depends on distance, staffing and conditions at the time of the callout.
3. Quotes and pricing
- Quotes are estimates based on the information available at the time. Hidden damage or additional faults found during strip-down may change the price.
- If the scope of work changes, we will issue a revised or supplementary quote for your approval before continuing.
- A quote is valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise. Parts pricing may change after expiry.
- Work begins only after you accept the quote — online through the portal or in writing.
4. Bookings and breakdown assistance
- Bookings are confirmed for a specific date and time slot. If you can't make it, let us know as early as possible so we can reallocate the bay.
- Breakdown callouts are dispatched based on the location and vehicle details you provide. Inaccurate information may delay or prevent assistance.
- A callout fee may apply to breakdown assistance and will be communicated before or at dispatch.
5. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate contact, vehicle and fault information when requesting services.
- Confirm you own the vehicle or are authorised by the owner to request work on it.
- Remove valuables and personal items from the vehicle before it is worked on or towed. We are not responsible for loss of personal items left in vehicles.
- Ensure your vehicle is insured appropriately; our cover applies to the work we perform, not your comprehensive vehicle risk.
6. Customer portal accounts
- Portal accounts let you track quotes, invoices, bookings, breakdowns and payments for vehicles linked to your account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity under your account.
- Approving a quote or accepting terms through the portal has the same effect as a signature.
- We may suspend portal access if an account is misused or linked to fraudulent activity.
7. Payment
- Invoices are payable on presentation unless a different arrangement is agreed in writing.
- We accept EFT, card and other methods shown on your invoice. Payment references must match the invoice number.
- Vehicles may be held until invoices are settled in full, as permitted by law.
- Overdue amounts may attract interest at the legal rate and reasonable collection costs.
8. Workmanship and warranties
- We warrant our workmanship for a reasonable period and honour manufacturer warranties on new parts we supply.
- Warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, subsequent third-party work, or unrelated existing faults.
- Customer-supplied parts are fitted at the customer's risk and carry no parts warranty.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Zakes Motorworks is not liable for indirect or consequential losses — including loss of income, alternative transport costs or delays — arising from services, estimates or breakdown response times. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
10. Website use
The content on this site — text, branding, images and documents — belongs to Zakes Motorworks. You may not copy it for commercial use, attempt to disrupt the site, or use forms to send spam or false requests.
11. Privacy
Personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, and storage on your device is covered by our Cookie Settings.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page applies to new requests and ongoing work; material changes will be noted with a new "last updated" date.
